Studio Pod Flex System

Professional headshot lighting, now modular.

Meet the Flex Light Panel - a freestanding studio light that turns Roadie from a mobile headshot kit into a permanent, studio-grade setup. Add the panels for big, soft, flattering light. Keep them in place. Take Roadie on the road when you need it - the light stays ready for the next session.

The system

One light system. Four ways to use it.

The Flex Light Panel is the building block. Use one, use a pair, or build a whole station around it - every configuration runs the same Studio Pod capture, retouching, and delivery.

Roadie + Flex

Roadie moves. Flex stays ready.

Roadie was built to travel - two cases, five-minute setup, headshots anywhere. Add two Flex Light Panels and that same Roadie becomes a permanent, studio-grade station: larger, softer light wrapping the subject from both sides.

  • Mobile when you need it. Take the Roadie capture unit to a career fair, a conference, an offsite - the panels stay home, ready for the next walk-in.
  • Permanent when you don't. Leave the full setup standing in a lobby, a career center, or an HR suite as an always-on headshot amenity.
  • Bigger, softer light. Two 4 ft panels flank the subject for wraparound fill - the difference between mobile quality and studio quality.
  • No new workflow. Same guided capture, same gallery delivery, same admin tools. Flex changes the light, not the software.
  • Add it to the Roadie you own. Flex panels build onto your existing setup - no forklift upgrade, no re-buy.
Capture, built in

Look straight down the lens.

On S1 - and on every Roadie capture unit - a real camera and a guided touchscreen sit right in the panel face. The subject looks straight at the lens while the soft light wraps around them, and the on-screen session walks them through each shot. No photographer in the room, no operator behind a camera.

Built around the light

Great headshots start with great light.

When there's no photographer in the room, the light has to do the work - every time, for every person. The Flex Light Panel is a large, soft source engineered for repeatable, flattering portraits.

  • Large, soft source. A 4 ft Quasar tube behind a diffused face throws broad, even light that wraps the face and softens skin.
  • Consistent, frame to frame. The same calibrated light for the first session of the day and the four-hundredth - no setup drift, no operator guesswork.
  • Built for self-serve. Designed so anyone can sit down and get a polished result without being coached on how to angle toward the light.
  • Larger, softer, more studio-like. Flex brings noticeably bigger, softer light to any Studio Pod setup it's added to.
Engineered

Thin by design.

Each Flex Light Panel is just 4.5 inches deep, on a single pole and a weighted base. Big, soft light with a footprint that disappears - it stores flat against a wall between sessions and ships without a freight crate.

Where it goes

Built for the places headshots actually happen.

A permanent studio at home base, a mobile kit for the road, or both - the same system flexes to the space.

Universities.

Career centers, student headshots, alumni and recruiting days. Leave the panels standing; bring the capture unit to the career fair.

Corporate teams.

Onboarding, executive portraits, internal directories - a permanent, on-brand headshot station that lives in the office.

Events & conferences.

High-volume headshot activations with a more polished, studio-grade lighting setup than a rented booth.

Coworking & offices.

An always-ready headshot amenity for tenants and members - in a footprint that stores flat against the wall.

FAQ

Questions about Flex.

Do I need a Roadie to use Flex?

No. The Flex Light Panel works three ways: as a standalone S1 station (camera and tablet built into one panel), as a pair of side lights that upgrade a Roadie, or as freestanding lights in a larger setup. If you already own a Roadie, the panels add to it; if you're starting fresh, we'll scope the right configuration with you.

How is this different from Roadie's built-in lights?

Roadie carries its own lighting so it can travel and shoot headshots anywhere. Flex Light Panels are larger, separate, freestanding sources - two 4 ft panels that flank the subject for broader, softer, wraparound light. They're what take a Roadie setup from mobile-grade to permanent, studio-grade.

Can I still take the Roadie on the road after adding Flex?

Yes - that's the whole point. The panels stay set up wherever you keep them; the Roadie capture unit comes and goes for events, career fairs, and offsites. You get a permanent studio at home base and a mobile kit, from the same equipment.

How big are the panels, and how do they store?

Each Flex Light Panel is roughly 4 ft tall by 2 ft wide and just 4.5 inches thin, on a single pole and a weighted circular base. Because they're so thin, they store flat against a wall when they're not in use.

What is S1?

S1 is a complete headshot station built on a single Flex Light Panel, with the camera and tablet integrated into the glowing face - the smallest-footprint way to put an always-ready Studio Pod station in a space. It's the new S1, and it sits below the flagship S3. Tell us your use case and we'll scope the right fit.

Does it use the same software as the rest of Studio Pod?

Yes. Guided self-serve capture, AI retouching, gallery delivery, admin tools, and support are identical across the Flex System. Flex changes the light and the form factor - not the workflow.

What does it cost?

System pricing: S1 $14,950, S3 $32,500. The Flex Lights (the panel pair) are a +$5,000 add-on to a Roadie or pod; the Privacy Wall is +$2,500. Software and service are included the first year, then continue on an annual contract - $500/month (Basic) or $950/month (Enhanced). Educational pricing is available for accredited institutions, and grant or sponsorship funding can offset it. Reach out and we'll quote your exact configuration.
